Barclays Update

Here are the latest updates from Barclays.  These products are available via our direct to lender mortgage club which offers you payment on completion and a lot more besides!

Application Changes Update

As well as being more intuitive, the new form is fully editable which removes the need for you to print and scan it to us. There is no change to how you work today – you just need to download and complete the form on screen before saving and entering into our application systems to upload it to the case.

Important information

  • The new form will require you to input the application case reference and the first applicant’s details before proceeding to enter any other changes.

These fields are mandatory and must be completed before any others

  • From today, please only use the new version for completing all PCVs.

Your existing Barclays mortgage clients

  • We now accept rate switch (product transfer) applications up to 180 days prior to existing product maturity.
  • You can now instantly access details of your clients’ Barclays mortgage online in the Barclays Intermediary Hub – speeding the time to submit applications for Barclays mortgage holders looking to switch rate, borrow additional funds or move home. 
Barclays launches Greener Home Reward

At Barclays, we are determined to play our part in addressing the urgent and complex challenge of climate change. We were one of the first banks to set an ambition to become net zero by 2050, and we’ve committed to align all of our financing activities with the goals and timelines of the Paris Agreement.

As a UK mortgage lender, we continue to support both Residential and Buy to Let customers complete a purchase on an A or B EPC rated new build home and reward them with a lower interest rate via our Green Homes Mortgage proposition.  

Now, to further support our customers move to a low-carbon and sustainable lifestyle, we are delighted to confirm the launch of our Greener Home Reward

Introducing Barclays Greener Home Reward

Between now and 1st May 2023, Barclays is offering up to £2,000 to UK residential mortgage customers that register for the cash reward online and then make and pay for a selected home energy efficiency-related improvement.   

Customers can choose to install any one of several home improvements, including an air-source heat pump, double or triple-glazed windows, solar panels, or home insulation.           

Eligibility criteria

To meet the eligibility criteria to obtain the reward, it’s important your clients;- 

  • Haven’t previously registered or claimed a reward (one claim per property)
  • Hold a Barclays residential mortgage, with the intended works to be carried out on the associated residential property
  • Undertake qualifying work, as detailed within the eligible home improvements list and carried out by a TrustMark-registered business or tradeperson (a government endorsed quality scheme for work carried out in homes)
  • Pay their mortgage via Direct Debit, as we’ll only pay the reward into this account
  • Aren’t in arrears at the time of registering for the Barclays Greener Home Reward
