Staying on top of important news stories is tough, especially when there is so much going on in the industry and so much that is published that is just ‘noise’.  We’ve found a solution that can help! We started to work as a team internally to help digest the information and share the key stories without bias. No, this is not about promoting Brilliant either.  It’s about helping people in the industry stay informed and highlight content we enjoyed.

This post was first published on 27th June 2020 on our previous website.  The content is the same but as brokers have found it useful we have moved it here so people can still access it in the weeks ahead.

Here is our selection for the week ending 27th June.  We earned our corn this week, some great articles but an awful lot of noise out there this week

Top Articles

Butterfield Mortgages have released survey results which show that half of those with AIPs were subsequently refused a mortgage. Looking forward, Maria Harris talks about the market outlook with this well written article in Mortgage Solutions.

There is nothing that Alan Margolis does not know about bridging finance so for anybody who does not really transact much business in the area, his article on bridging is very useful.

Diversity

No, not Britain’s Got Talent, it’s the serious fact that this industry has a long way to go on the diversity front and that talking about that is a good thing. With that in mind, Rozi Jones of Financial Reporter talks about BAME inequality and the industry. Positive news in that two key female appointments have been made this week, one at Principality and the other at Ecology.

Best of the Rest

The FCA has itself been told to improve its handling of complaints! As important as taking complaints seriously is, this headline will surely bring a smile to most people’s faces.
