Experian’s CreditLock update

The credit referencing agency Experian has recently launched a new feature called CreditLock to help provide increased security to its customers.

CreditLock allows customers to ‘lock’ or ‘unlock’ their Experian credit report and provides an extra layer of protection against identity fraud.

What action do you need to take?

For all applications where your customer’s credit report is showing as ‘locked’, we’ll send you the MATS message below:

Application is pending due to information relating to your customer’s Experian credit file. Please ask your customer to review this.

Reminder: properties with cladding

We’d like to remind you that we’ll consider mortgage applications for flats with five storeys and above in England only without asking for further information.

For properties in England where a flat has four storeys or less and cladding of concern is identified by the valuer, we’ll still require the upfront cladding questions to be answered.

We don’t need EWS1 forms or other documents unless we ask for them.

There’s no change to the cladding policy for properties in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland so the upfront cladding questions will still need to be answered.
