Introducing Free EPC Plus for Skipton Mortgage Customers

Skipton Building Society are now working with Vibrant to offer property owners with a Skipton mortgage a free Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) Plus report. As part of this scheme we are also offering landlords who hold just one Skipton mortgage account the same service for up to 10 properties they own.

A free EPC Plus can also help landlords understand what they might need to do to prepare for the changes in regulations which are set to come into effect in 2025, which will require all new tenancies to have an EPC rating of Band C or above.

At a time when energy costs are rising, we want to do our bit by helping our mortgage customers to identify ways they could improve the environmental footprint of the property they own. We hope you will agree this is an excellent opportunity for homeowners and landlords alike.

Other benefits of EPC Plus include:
  • Helping customers identify if they’re eligible for any government-funded schemes available through local authorities and installers.
  • For properties in England, Wales and Northern Ireland landlords can get assistance finding out if they are eligible for any exemptions under the Minimum Energy Efficiency Regulations and how to enter this on the Private Rented Sector Exemptions Register.
  • Access to technical advice from Vibrant’s energy upgrade team.
  • Option to use Vibrant’s team to obtain price estimates from their panel of carefully selected suppliers. Customers can also opt to use their project-management services so that any works are overseen on their behalf – there is a fee for this service which would be agreed between the customer and Vibrant directly.
  • A new report once the work is complete (if the customer has used Vibrant’s project-management services) showing the revised energy performance rating.

Please note, this offer is only available on homes constructed more than 10 years ago.
