Fleet Mortgages: Q1 2026 Rental Barometer now live
I’m pleased to share a copy of the Fleet Mortgages Rental Barometer with you which we’ve published today, covering Q1 2026 rental yields across England and Wales plus additional Fleet data from the last quarter.
Fleet Mortgages’ Rental Barometer Q1 2026
All regions in England & Wales show annual increase in rental yields
- Average rental yields increased to 8.1%, up both year-on-year and quarterly, showing steady returns for landlords right across the country
- The North East remained the top-yielding region across Q1 with rental yields of 9.8%, moving up by 0.6% annually and 0.2% quarterly
- More than half of all applications came from landlords who own six or more properties
- Average portfolio size increased to 16 properties, up from 14 last quarter
- Limited company borrowers continued to dominate, making up 78% of all applications
- First-time landlords held steady, representing 11% of all applications
