Updates to our buy to let criteria

Helping more of your landlord clients secure the mortgage they need.

At Aldermore, we’re here to support brokers working with landlords who want flexible lending solutions designed for every stage of their journey.

It’s a topic we regularly discuss with our broker partners, and your feedback has been invaluable in shaping the way we look at maximising borrowing potential.

That’s why we’ve expanded our list of acceptable company types and accept director’s and intercompany loans as deposits.

Updated criteria

Director’s loans and intercompany loans are acceptable as a source of deposit and we accept individuals (up to 6), Sole traders, Partnerships, Limited Liability Partnerships (LLP) and Private Limited Companies including:

  • New company incorporations and day one special purpose vehicle (SPV).
  • Family investment companies.
  • We now accept SPVs that are part of a layered company structure, so long as all the layers are UK based (no limits on the total number of layers).

Additional notes

  • When applying, please provide the company’s overall ownership structure and a detailed shareholding breakdown in the notes.
  • Trusts are not acceptable within the company structure.
  • Newly incorporated companies and day one special purpose vehicles (SPV) will need to be registered on Companies House.
