At Fleet Mortgages, we recognise that life doesn’t always run smoothly, and that your clients may sometimes need extra care and support at different stages of their mortgage journey. Whether it’s due to a health condition, bereavement, financial difficulty or something else, we want to ensure we’re offering the right help, at the right time.

We’ve always had a policy in place to support vulnerable customers, but we’re now making it easier for advisers to let us know when you’re working with someone who might need a little more assistance.

From this week, there’s a new page live in the Intermediary section of our website which clearly outlines how we support vulnerable customers, and includes a dedicated form you can complete on their behalf to tell us more about their circumstances.

By sharing this information with us, you’re helping us act with sensitivity and understanding, ensuring your customer is treated fairly and respectfully throughout their application. Vulnerability won’t affect their eligibility, it simply helps us communicate more effectively and make decisions with greater care.

The form is straightforward, but it’s important you have your customer’s explicit consent before submitting any details. This is to protect both them and you, and to ensure we’re handling personal information in line with data protection rules.
