Halifax Intermediaries – Improvements to the Green Living Reward
Our Green Living Reward lets our mortgage customers receive a cashback reward of up to £2,000 for making energy efficient improvements to their home.
To enable even more customers to benefit we have removed the requirement that the customer also have a Halifax (or Bank of Scotland) bank account at the point they are making a claim.
Key changes
Customers will no longer be required to hold an account with a bank that is part of Lloyds Banking Group to make a Green Living Reward claim on their Halifax mortgage. The cashback amount can be sent to an account held with another bank.
We’ve also made a number of changes to simplify and improve the customer experience throughout the Green Living Reward registration and claim journey, which will reduce the number of contacts required to progress the customer’s claim.

Customers could get a cashback reward of up to £2,000 and a free Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) for making qualifying home improvements such as insulation, solar panels, or a heat pump, within one year of completing their Halifax mortgage, further advance, or product transfer. Halifax Intermediaries product changes – Wednesday 6 May 2026
We are making the following changes to our mortgage product range with effect from Wednesday 6 May:
Homemover and First time buyer
- Rate reductions of up to 0.05% on 2, 3 and 5 year fixed rates
- Complete by dates extended
Remortgage
- Rate reductions of up to 0.25% on 2,3 and 5 year fixed rates
- Complete by dates extended
Product transfer and further advance
- Rate reductions of up to 0.24% on 2 and 5 year fixed rates
- Complete by dates extended

- The product search tool on the Halifax Intermediaries website, Halifax Intermediaries Online and sourcing systems will be updated by Wednesday 6 May
