E-signatures Launch
More great news, we’ll accept e-signatures on our mortgage offer pack documents from Wednesday 21st February.
You’ve told us how important speed and ease of completion are to you and your customers. Therefore, to continue cutting our processing times, we’re pleased to announce that we’ll accept e-signatures on our mortgage offer pack documents from Wednesday 21st February.
All new and pipeline cases pre ‘Speaks With’ call will be offered the e-sign option if:
- their security property is registered in England or Wales;
- they have their own unique telephone number and email address;
- they don’t require independent legal advice; and
- they haven’t been identified as having low computer, financial, or English language literacy.
During our security call (Speaks With) we’ll briefly explain to eligible customers the process and confirm that they’re happy to sign their mortgage offer documents electronically. The mortgage offer pack will then be issued via Docusign by Robertsons Solicitors who’ll be managing this process for us, you, and our mutual customers.
The following documents can be included for e-signing in our mortgage offer pack:
- Mortgage Deed;
- Credit Consolidation and Cashout Form;
- Direct Debit Mandate; and
- Minor Amendments Form.
Customers whose applications require a Consent Deed will need to action and return this to us before offer, in order to be eligible to esign their mortgage offer pack.
We’ll continue to issue our mortgage offer pack using existing methods to ineligible customers and those who would prefer to not sign electronically. For such customers we’ve separated the Mortgage Deed from the offer pack. Therefore, if you need to send customers their offer pack for any reason, you will need to ensure you select both the ‘Offer Pack’ and the ‘Mortgage Deed’ from the documents section in SWAN as the offer pack file will no longer contain the Mortgage Deed.
